Openwork Bronze Plaque with Caprid, Human, and Animal Motifs

This circular openwork plaque is made of bronze and enclosed within a raised outer border. The central composition appears to depict a standing caprid, probably an ibex or wild goat, shown in profile with a prominent recurved horn, elongated body, and slender legs. The principal animal stands upon a horizontal platform or ground line that forms part of the openwork design. A smaller quadruped is positioned on the back of the central animal, while a diminutive seated human figure is represented beneath its body, close to the forelegs.
