Bronze Vessel with Deer-Head Spout
A distinctive bronze pouring vessel with a cylindrical main body and a broad, slightly projecting rim. The front of the vessel is elaborately fashioned in the form of a deer’s head, creating a prominent zoomorphic pouring attachment.
The deer is depicted with an elongated muzzle, pointed ears, and simplified facial features. Its mouth terminates in a tubular opening that functions as the pouring spout. The neck of the deer connects directly with the body of the vessel, integrating the animal representation with the functional form of the object.
Behind the deer-head attachment are small loop-like fittings, possibly associated with a handle or suspension mechanism. The lower portion of the zoomorphic section extends into a narrow decorative stem terminating in a small, rounded disc-shaped element.
The main vessel has a relatively plain cylindrical body, contrasting with the more elaborately modeled deer head. The surface is covered with a dark greenish-brown patina, with areas of oxidation, wear, and surface deposits.
